The Portland Hockey Trust is a non profit organization founded in 1996. Run entirely by volunteers, we offer two eight week skating sessions a year in the spring and fall. These two hour skates are fully staffed with coaches and equipment managers that have come together through their love of hockey. Skates and equipment are provided and any Portland 3rd, 4th, or 5th grader is welcome to join us skate and play hockey at no charge.

We serve snacks, teach skating, stick handling, and passing, play games for fun, and at the end of the season compete in the renowned "Trophy Game". Each spring and fall we are delighted to have professional photographer Gordon Chibroski join us for a group photo, and every child receives a copy to take home. We also have pizza parties and invite the Trust kids and their families to attend a professional hockey game with the Maine Mariners. The goal is simple - to give children an opportunity to have fun and play hockey!
